Based in Brighton
Helmstone is a Brighton-based studio curating wallcoverings, lighting, and architectural details for interiors that value longevity over novelty. Our name comes directly from the city itself — a place defined by layered architecture, coastal light, and a long tradition of thoughtful, human-scaled design.
That context shapes everything we do. Rather than chasing trend, we focus on material integrity, proportion, and restraint — the elements that quietly determine how a space feels over time. We are drawn to surfaces that hold depth, forms that sit comfortably within a room, and finishes that respond beautifully to light and use.
Helmstone exists for those who believe good interiors are not assembled quickly, but composed carefully.
Informed by practice
Helmstone is shaped by experience across residential and hospitality interiors, where materials must perform as well as they present. Longevity, usability, and how a piece ages are considered as carefully as appearance.
We are drawn to materials that improve with time, finishes that gain character through use, and details that reward close attention without demanding it. Every piece is selected with an understanding of how it will be lived with — not just how it will be photographed.
From defining a surface to refining the final detail, our role is to help create spaces that feel intentional, balanced, and enduring — spaces that continue to feel right years from now.
Designed with architectural intent
Our collections are curated through an architectural lens. Pieces are not selected for impact in isolation, but for how they relate — to each other, to the space they occupy, and to the people who live or work within it.
We consider how texture changes the perception of scale, how finishes soften or sharpen light, and how proportion influences calm. This allows rooms to feel cohesive and resolved rather than styled or overly directed. Nothing competes. Nothing shouts. Each element supports the whole.
The result is interiors that feel natural and lived in — spaces that reveal their quality gradually, and continue to feel considered long after first impression has faded.
